Make your garage work for your routine

A useful garage plan starts with what needs to fit: vehicles, tools, storage, or space for a hobby. Chelle Renovate & Build is based in Englewood, serving Charlotte and Sarasota counties. Describe your goals so an existing-space renovation and a proposed addition can be assessed separately.

Put the daily use on paper

List what the garage holds today and what you want it to hold after the project. Include vehicle dimensions, doors that need room to open, bulky equipment, and the paths you use to reach the house.

A storage-focused update has different priorities from a workshop or a change in how the space is occupied. Decide which uses must coexist and which items could move elsewhere before comparing layout ideas.

  • Measure large vehicles, equipment, and furniture.
  • Identify storage you reach daily and items used occasionally.
  • Mark doors, windows, and access routes you want preserved.

Distinguish renovation from expansion

For work inside an existing garage, discuss the condition of the floor, walls, openings, and current arrangement. Identify the finishes you want changed and any concerns you have about moisture or damaged surfaces.

If the goal needs more space or a different use, raise that at the start. Ask what property assessment, design, approvals, or specialist input would be needed and who would be responsible. New space and existing-space improvements should have clearly described scopes.

Set the responsibilities and access

Explain whether your ideas involve an overhead door, lighting, additional outlets, temperature control, or storage fittings. Ask which tasks Chelle can include and which need separate coordination. Product and trade responsibilities should be clear before selections are final.

Discuss where vehicles and stored belongings would go during the work, how access to the home would be maintained, and which details will be reviewed at completion. Call 941-310-0600 with your town and the garage's intended use.
